Your gut plays a role in pretty much every function of the human body. From ruling over your digestive system to releasing happy hormones, you gut does it all. So naturally, you want to make sure it’s in good health!
The thing is, your gut is also very tricky. It doesn’t have just one way of letting you know it's not happy. This makes it so that most people live their lives not recognizing that the solution to their acne, intense bloating, chronic illness, brain fog, moodiness, poor sleep- you get the point- is a result of having an unhealthy gut.
Luckily, gut health supplements such as ONESOL™ GREENS make gut health easy. With all the ingredients your body needs to maintain a healthy gut, GREENS makes sure your gut is happy so you can feel nice and fresh from the inside out! It’s so quick, easy, and delicious it doesn’t even feel like a supplement! It’s a green juice a day that’ll leave you feeling on top of your game for a fraction of the price!
However, no amount of supplements will help keep your gut healthy if you continue engaging in all the bad habits that are hurting you in the first place! People often make the mistake of thinking a protein shake will make them build muscle, or that a fat burner will make them lose body fat, but the truth is, none of these supplements will magically make you see results! Supplements of all kinds are exactly that, supplements. They are tools you use to get to your results quicker and more efficiently.
And sadly, many of the things that have been normalized in our modern day society are actually really harmful to our bodies! Living a high stress lifestyle, getting poor sleep or not enough sleep, eating a diet that's high in processed foods and added sugars, drinking alcohol- all of these factors affect your gut and disrupt the delicate microbiome that is necessary for maintaining and promoting your health.
That being said, let’s take a look at some of the signs and symptoms your body is sending you to let you know your gut is in serious trouble and what to do to help.
Signs you have an unhealthy gut
Your gut is a beautiful and intricate system that pretty much runs the show. I know, it's hard to think your brain’s not in charge, but really, your brain wouldn’t know what to do without your gut! So really, healing your gut is necessary for making sure your body’s healthy and happy.
But as we mentioned in the beginning of this article, your gut isn’t always straight forward with telling you how it feels and most of us live our lives not realizing that if we just healed our gut, most of our health issues would go away!
It’s crazy to think of the gut as being this all powerful and all knowing thing, yet we’re not taught how to work with it to ensure our health! So to help shed some light on what to look for, here are some of the signs your gut is trying to tell you something:
1.You have an upset stomach
This one seems pretty obvious, but it goes without saying that if you’re constantly experiencing stomach issues- you probably want to take a step back and listen to what your gut is telling you. Experiencing extreme gas and bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and heartburn are all potential signs of having an unhealthy gut!
Now, I’ve seen so many people talk and complain about bloating so let me just clarify one thing: bloating is normal. You’re supposed to bloat after eating! It just means your stomach is releasing all the gasses and enzymes it requires to digest the food you just ate! Bloating becomes a problem however if it doesn’t go away, gradually gets worse, or is extremely painful in which case you should definitely seek medical attention. But as far as experiencing bloating after your meals, it's normal babes. And it’s actually a good sign that your body is doing what it's supposed to be doing.
That being said, gut health supplements can help alleviate bloating by speeding up the digestion process and helping your stomach finish the job!
2.You consume a high sugar diet
Your diet is easily the most important part of your health. I mean, you ARE what you eat! The food you eat dictates how your body runs and how you feel. Food is fuel after all, so you want to make sure you're fueling up with the best quality foods you can get.
The issue with our eating habits as a society is that we’re so pressed to get our meals done and over with as quick as possible, that we often opt in for what’s readily available which ends up being foods that are highly processed and contain lots of added sugars.
But a diet that’s high in processed foods and sugar can seriously harm your gut by killing off your internal microbiome. Your microbiome consists of all the good bacteria, viruses, and fungi that live in your gut and help you digest and absorb nutrients from the foods you eat. But when the foods you eat kill off your microbiome, that’s when you start having issues with your gut.
That’s why we recommend eating home cooked meals as much as possible. Sticking to whole foods help make sure you not only get all the nutrients you need, but you also help support the microbiome that makes digesting and absorbing all those nutrients possible.
3.Unintentional weight changes
Losing or gaining weight when you’re not trying to is often an indication that something is off and an imbalanced gut can be the reason why you’re experiencing unintentional weight changes.
When your microbiome is off the roster, you risk impairing your body’s ability to absorb nutrients, regulate blood sugar, and store fat. This can cause you to be malnourished, binge eat, and/or gain unwanted weight.
So if you've experienced issues regarding your weight, whether that’s unintentional losing weight or gaining weight despite your efforts to keep it off, you might want to look into balancing out your gut’s microbiome with all the good bacteria it’s lacking.
4. Difficulty sleeping
Believe it or not, your gut is responsible for producing and storing over 90% of your hormones. This includes your sleep hormones. So it’s understandable that if your gut isn’t functioning right, neither are your hormones. This makes it so that you may experience troubles falling asleep, staying asleep, or getting good enough sleep making you live in a constant state of fatigue.
An unhealthy gut also has trouble fighting inflammation which can also negatively impact your sleep quality.
5. Skin irritation
The state of your skin is a good indication of how your insides are doing. I mean, we’ve all seen those diagrams that show the areas where we get acne and what that means right?
Well, getting acne is often a sign of having imbalance hormones and food intolerances- AKA having an unhealthy gut. This is due to the fact that if your gut isn’t working right, the content of your gut that's supposed to get expelled out of your body ends up getting absorbed into your bloodstream causing a body-wide inflammatory response which manifests through acne.
In more extreme cases, an unhealthy gut may also result in psoriasis, a painful skin disease that causes a rash with itchy, scaly patches that arise all over your skin.
These are only a few of the ways that your gut can be telling you it needs some help. Of course, the list includes more signs and symptoms such as autoimmune conditions and certain food intolerances which is why we recommend seeking professional help if possible.
But if you’re simply trying to maintain a healthy body, then supplementing with gut health products can do wonders at creating the environment that allows your microbiome to do its job.
Doing so requires promoting the growth of the beneficial bacteria and providing the good living bacteria your body needs for a healthy gut. Luckily, this can easily be done with a good pre and probiotic supplement.
Additionally, eating a diet that's high in fiber, drinking lots of water, eating smaller, more frequent meals, and chewing properly are all things you can start doing today to help heal your gut.
